Nikki Glaser Reveals How Kylie Jenner's Reaction to Her Golden Globes Monologue Affected Her

Nikki Glaser opened up about how much Kylie Jenner’s reaction to her 2025 Golden Globes monologue meant to her, admitting it weighed heavily on her mind.

During the January 7 episode of The Nikki Glaser Podcast, the 40-year-old comedian recounted her experience hosting this year’s Golden Globes, joined by her boyfriend, Chris Convy, and two of her writers, Brian Frange and Sean O’Connor, who offered their insights into her performance.

“I haven’t watched it yet,” Glaser confessed about her monologue delivered on January 5. “While I was on stage, I wasn’t really absorbing anything.”

She elaborated that she struggled to gauge the audience’s reactions, especially since she couldn’t see their faces clearly. Her cohosts, however, were eager to share their observations, singling out Jenner, 27, as one of the night’s standout reactions to Glaser’s roasts.
“I was too afraid to ask,” Glaser admitted. “It matters to me too much.”
Glaser recalled joking about Timothée Chalamet’s facial hair during the show, comparing it to “eyelashes” on the actor’s upper lip—a quip that, she noted, “f—ing killed” Jenner.

“What? Stop,” she laughed, recalling Jenner’s reaction, which was met with uproarious applause from the audience. Glaser then shared how difficult it was for her to track the crowd’s responses during her performance.
“It’s so hard to have a camera in your face,” she explained. “All the cameras are aimed at people. They’re aware something’s coming, especially when they’re stars.”

Drawing from her experience on Comedy Central Roasts, Glaser reflected on how hearing her name during a roast made her nervous, blurring her ability to process jokes about her. “When I see my name on the prompter, I blackout. You can’t listen to it, you’re so nervous,” she said.

She reassured herself that the celebrities in the audience were likely “terrified” of her jokes, owing to her reputation on roast specials. “I kept thinking, ‘They have nothing to worry about, they should trust me.’ I just know I’m trustworthy,” she added, joking that the stars were “so scared” of her roasts.

Glaser also shared a touching moment with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who stopped by her dressing room after the awards show to congratulate her on her performance.

“I hugged him before the monologue and then again after,” she recalled. “He didn’t need to do that. He came back to celebrate with everyone. It was probably 10 minutes after the show ended, and he came back.”
