BMW India celebrated a landmark achievement in 2024, recording its highest-ever sales with 15,721 cars sold. Meanwhile, Mahindra revealed additional details about its much-anticipated BE 6 SUV, including pricing for the flagship variant, Pack Three.
Initially, Mahindra announced an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹18.90 lakh for the BE 6’s base model during its November launch. Now, the automaker has priced the top-tier Pack Three at ₹26.90 lakh. Unlike the introductory pricing for lower trims, this figure is final. Bookings for Pack Three open on February 14, with reservations for the other variants starting in March. Deliveries are slated to begin the same month.
Three Variants and Diverse Options
The BE 6 will be offered in three trims: Pack One, Pack Two, and Pack Three. While pricing for the mid-spec Pack Two is yet to be disclosed, the SUV will come in eight striking colors, including Everest White, Firestorm Orange, Stealth Black, and Desert Myst Satin.
Key highlights of the BE 6 include two battery configurations: a 59kWh pack for Pack One and a larger 79kWh unit for higher variants. The company is promising a lifetime warranty on the 79kWh battery for the first owner, further enhancing its appeal.
Battery, Range, and Performance
With its dual battery offerings, the BE 6 caters to a broad range of customers. The 59kWh version delivers a range of 556km, powered by a 231hp motor. The larger 79kWh battery supports a more robust 281hp motor, offering an extended range of 682km. Torque remains consistent at 380Nm across both configurations.
Pack One is equipped with rear-wheel drive (RWD), while Pack Two and Pack Three feature all-wheel drive (AWD). The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100kph in just 6.7 seconds with the 79kWh variant, underscoring its sporty credentials.
Charging Innovations
Mahindra offers buyers a choice between two AC chargers: an 11.2kW unit that charges the 79kWh battery in 8 hours and the 59kWh pack in 6 hours, or a 7.3kW option, which extends charging times to 11.7 hours and 8.7 hours, respectively. Buyers must purchase chargers separately.
For rapid recharging, the BE 6 supports a 175kW DC fast charger, capable of boosting the 79kWh battery from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
High-Tech Interiors and Premium Features
Inside, the BE 6 exudes sophistication. A halo-like trim envelops the driver, creating an immersive cockpit experience. The dashboard boasts dual 12.3-inch floating screens powered by Mahindra’s MAIA AI architecture, handling both infotainment and instrumentation.
Notable design elements include a sleek two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated BE logo and an aircraft-inspired drive mode selector. Convenience features like a wireless charging pad add to the appeal.
The top-spec Pack Three raises the bar with dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof featuring customizable lighting patterns, and advanced driver aids like auto park assist and a Level 2 ADAS suite. Additional perks include a Dolby Atmos-enabled 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, 5G connectivity with Wi-Fi, OTA updates, a 360-degree camera system, and seven airbags.
As the BE 6 edges closer to its market debut, Mahindra has also unveiled pricing for another highly anticipated model, the XEV 9e, further expanding its electric vehicle portfolio.
